Audio 1 - Heal

My journey began about 6 years ago.

Quick birth and no connection to baby.

I felt like a robot going through the mommy motions.

I had high hopes for this second mat. leave: homecooked meals, clean house, time to shower, put on nice clothes & makeup daily, etc.

But every night, I would go to bed feeling like a failure.

Something had to change: I would either have to work harder to become the perfect mother OR drop the crazy expectations of motherhood.

So I began searching for happiness.  Searching for ways to deal with the fact that I would never be social media perfect.

Long story short - I was searching for happiness in all the wrong places.  I was looking outward instead of inward.  The shift really happened when I picked up the book Spirit Junkie by Gabby Bernstein.

When I saw all the homework, I rolled my eyes, but quickly realized that if I wanted things to be different then I needed to do things differently.

I uncovered past traumas and dramas.

I forgave others and myself.

I healed my past so that I could BE in my present.

PS: I really enjoyed digging deep into my pile of mud...but I also believe that you don't need to dig up past traumas to be able to heal!

Shit happened! As Tony Robbins would say, if you blame your parents for the bad stuff you have to blame them for the good stuff too.

You are now in control of your life - stop giving away your power!

Forgive.  Heal.  & BE where your feet are!

The first step is always the hardest.

I get it.  Forgiveness isn't always easy. But you know what else isn't easy: Being stuck in our victim mindset!

The second step...is to take THE FIRST STEP!

This audio is inspired by a man named Sebastien Sasseville.  He's an author & public speaker sharing about many amazing accomplishments in his life, such as being the first man with Type 2 diabetes to climb Mount Everest.

When he decided to take on Mount Everest, he could have been immediately overwhelmed by the immensity of this project.  What do you pack? Can I even make it to the top...or even make it all the way back down? What if I get hurt? What if...

You can see Mount Everest for what it is: Mount Everest, or you can choose to see it as a mountain that you'll climb one step at a time.

What was his first move? To sign up for climbing lessons every Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7 - 8, at a local climbing center!

Now, my example might not be as mind-blowing as reaching the top of Mount Everest, but it's alos a great example of growth.

When I decided that something had to change, I was overwhelmed by what would be necessary to heal and be happy again.

I started seeing the light 3 years into this mom of 2 journey.  There's no way I would have started my pursuit of happiness had I known that it would take me 5 years to finally be able to say I AM HAPPY.  What I was able to see myself do is TAKING THE NEXT STEP.

Usually, the decision for taking the first step is when you're at a crossroad - do you keep doing what you've been doing OR are you going to lace up your shoes and change paths?

It's scary.

It's unknown

It's worth the growth.

Happiness is a choice you make - every single day.

As I mentioned in audio 1, I was always looking for happiness OUTSIDE of me.

I thought that I would finally be happy when:

  • I lose the baby weight.
  • I would make a certain amount of money.
  • the baby would start sleeping through the night.
  • ...you name it!

It was only when I came across this image that it clicked - Happiness in an inside job!


Since happiness is an inside job, I want to remind you that what works for me..might not work for you, but let's have fun figuring it out!

You see it everywhere - 10 habits of happy people, how to be happy articles, 10 ways to be happier, and the list goes on and on..

I think it can be a good place to start, but I also know that what makes you happy won't necessarily make me happy too.

So, what's a girl to do?

I believe that happiness is a choice we make every single day...and often, we have to make that choice a couple more times throughout the day.

As the google search would tell us, I agree that starting your day on a positive note is a great way to make that happiness choice.

The HOW is up to you:

  • Is it an affirmation in your bathroom mirror that you repeat to yourself while you brush your teeth?
  • Is it having an attitude of gratitude and making a list or 5-10 things you are thankful for as soon as you open your eyes?
  • Is it morning meditation?
  • Or is it sipping coffee quietly while scrolling through facebook?

You get the idea, right?!

One thing is for sure - your mind is READY for positivity first thing in the morning, so make sure you have something ready for it.

Before we grab our worksheet, I want to remind you that in order to make some changes YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN CHANGE YOURSELF!  This is super important, because if we don't believe we CAN increase our happiness, we won't even bother to try!

With that being said, let's get to work!

It's quite simple really, if you want to be happy, don't let yourself get away with being unhappy.

As I was re-listening to my audio, I realized that I make it sound like I want you to go AFTER something in order to be happy... And I also said that I don't want you to wait until you have xyz to be happy... I sound mixed up and I apologize!

To be happy you got to be grateful for what you have right now WHILE also pursuing your dreams and passions.  I think this is they key to true HAPPINESS. That's all I meant.. PHEW!
